SUN TIMES’ SNEED CALLS WILLIAM J. KELLY “GATLING GUMS”

Michael Sneed from today’s Chicago Sun-Times has given me a new nickname  – “Gatling Gums”  William J. Kelly.  A gatling gun, for you non-gun enthusiasts, is one of the best known early rapid-fire weapons and forerunner of the modern machine gun.  Hmmm….How ’bout “Machine Gums” Kelly?

Modern Gatling

A Facebook Friend, Ian Hayne, gave me this little tidbit about the Gatling. ” By the way, the Gatling might have been the precursor to the machine gun, but refined to its present state-of-the-art, it is a formidable thing … e.g. the M61 20mm in so many deployments, and the GAU-8 30 mm in the A-10 Warthog … it’s a great compliment Mr “Gatling Gums” Kelly, so wear it with pride :):)

Read her item about me and my event with FOX’s Dick Morris here:

Pssst!

Remember “Gatling gums” William J. Kelly, the radio guy who accused Channel 2 newsman Jay Levine, a tough pro, of threatening to deck him during a press gathering? (Levine, of course, was found not guilty.)

◆To wit: Kelly is not only running for 42nd ward Republican, but he’s enlisted the help of Dick Morris, Fox News contributor/former Clinton White House advisor, who is scheduled to attend his fundraiser/46th birthday party at the Signature Room in the John Hancock building.

  1. A facebook friend – Ian Hayne – gave me an update on the Gatling.

Ian says: From down here in AU, Bill, it sounds really cool! Good luck with ur candidacy, and Happy Birthday as the sun comes around ur side of the world again 🙂 By the way, the Gatling might have been the precursor to the machine gun, but refined to its present state-of-the-art, it is a formidable thing … e.g. the M61 20mm in so many deployments, and the GAU-8 30 mm in the A-10 Warthog … it’s a great compliment Mr “Gatling Gums” Kelly, so wear it with pride :):)
